Spring Anyone?

Yep - that's our new hot tub :) And the plants growing peacefully in my greenhouse... Now if this SNOW would just disappear!

Home Sweet Home

We are finally off the road and back to the couch :)

To finish off the list of activities:
Sat - Head out of CO pretty early, travel up through Wyoming and SD through national parks, touristy stops like Crazy Horse & Mount Rushmore, then a sunset drive through the Badlands, a couple of beers and a pizza in Wall, and a quick dip in the hot tub at our hotel.
Sun - Early rise to get the breakfast buffet and 5 cent coffee at Wall Drug, a bit of shopping, another drive through the Badlands, travel on I-90 through horrible winds, stop to see the Corn Palace, then back to MN to drop off the minivan.
Mon - a bit of playtime with Anna before heading to Nashwauk to drop off Mom and Gunny and then back home to Bemidji to a very excited Boscoe and Josh :)

So we saw also sooooo many animals - the elk posted earlier, cows right in town (doing shoulder work apparently), a turkey and fox at our hotels, prairie dogs, antelope, mule deer & sheep at the Badlands, a chipmunk beggar at Mount Rushmore - and of course we took pics :)

Road Trippin'

Mom and I are now in Colorado - about halfway through our trek from Arizona to Minnesota.

Here's the rundown so far:
Wed - Arrive in Arizona, Help with packing for Grandma & Grandpa Walsh, Lunch with Cousin Amber, Sunning by the pool, dinner, and sleep.
Thurs - Attempt to check out the flea market only to find out they are only open Fri, Sat, & Sun... Start off on our trip home around ten, stop in Sedona for souvenirs & a new wardrobe for mom, drive through the Grand Canyon at sunset, get a way too expensive hotel in Tuba City...
Fri - Mostly driving - from Tuba City, AZ, through Utah, and up through the Rockies to Colorado, with a stop at Palisade for wine tasting at a local winery/orchard, stop at a rest stop to take pics of the Colorado River, and now we are in Frisco, CO just South of Denver for another night's rest.

A couple of observations so far - (1)Sedona is beautiful but I hate those circle turnabout things and they are EVERYWHERE there, (2)the Grand Canyon is a sight to see - too bad pics don't do it justice, (3)I love wine, (4)I need a house in Colorado either on the mountain or on the river and enough money to be able to helicopter in without having to DRIVE on these crazy roads :)

Oh - and the speed limits are insanely high - 65 on two-lane roads is in my mind ridiculous - especially since most of the roads do not have shoulders!

And now for your enjoyment... Some pics to awe you (even though lots are taken through dirty windshields)!

White-Out

***UPDATE***
We now have over 1.5 feet of snow and it is still going strong - makes me wish I was in AZ - like I will be in 10 days!!!

***END UPDATE***

Yesterday we enjoyed a 50-55 degree spring day - all of the snow had melted and we were covered in mud... Now this today...

At least Quincy was enjoying himself! Now I have to figure out how to get myself home without ending up in the ditch...
