Tag Blanket

Just finished this tonight - was hoping to add more items that would be good for a baby - mirrors, crinkle fabric/paper, etc but wasn't able to find what I wanted at JoAnn Fabrics. Also they used to have scrap bags of ribbon but no longer do that... So each roll of ribbon is anywhere from $2-6 - when all I need is a few inches - ugggh! They have some that you can buy by the yard, but they weren't as cute. Kinda disappointing to a cheapskate like me, but luckily I think the blanket turned out well anyway. The brown fabric is so soft and cuddly, and the flannel side matches the baby's bedding (I used a receiving blanket from the set to make the blanket.)
I also put Keira's initials on it, of course the machine kept skipping stitches, so I had to go over it twice, making it bulky. I still like it though, it kinda makes her name feel more permanent since we have been back and forth a bit (ok, only I have been back and forth, not so much Josh!)
Not bad for my first tag blanket, I think! I will definitely be making more :)

Room in Progress

This weekend has been absolutely exhausting, but so rewarding! Baby P's room is done, at least the hard labor part!

Here is what the room looked like before:

Not sure why the closet doors were blue, especially when I noticed while painting that they used to be white like everything else in the room.

Here are a couple of pics taken after sanding and painting the horrible drywall (you can see the tape, and the drywall sags on the ceiling because they installed it wrong and then covered it with a super heavy texture - uggh!). Someday we will replace the drywall, but for now, this works. We tried to cover up the tape lines on the walls as best we could with the cottage-y slats we installed and painted.

And of course a couple of pics of the baby's furniture:

Picture the room with a splash of pink, the bedding posted earlier, and voila! I am going to paint some wall hangings with the art set Josh got me for Christmas a couple of years ago (or maybe it was my birthday??). The ideas are endless!

EDIT - - some pics with a bit of the pink in there :)

Passed!

Went in for my 30 week appointment today - all is good. The tests they did 2 weeks ago (for glucose, iron, etc) all came back normal :) I wasn't too worried, since I assumed they would let me know if the results weren't good.

Everything else pregnancy related is surprisingly great (knock on wood!). I am still sleeping through the night, not needing to get up to use the bathroom, just a bit uncomfortable sleeping on my side because my arm falls asleep. I had issues with restless legs and leg cramps a couple of months ago, but that hasn't happened since then, either. My weight is good and on target - I have gained 9 pounds so far based on my pre-pg weight (since losing a bit in the first tri from getting sick) but if you go by my lowest weight I am up about 15. My doc has always commended me on my weight, especially over the holidays - he figured most of his expectant mothers would gain a little extra :) I feel a bit of pelvic pressure when I walk, but I really wouldn't call it painful. Baby P (most likely Keira Lorraine) is kicking away - I think I would describe it kinda like if you move your tongue inside your cheek (only in the belly!) - you can feel her lumps moving across like that.

I have a feeling all of this greatness will be short-lived! I am definitely counting my blessings, I could not be happier :)
Only 10 weeks left!

Baby Clothes!

I had a minor breakdown this weekend when I noticed we had NO clothes for our little girl. Dreams of early birth with nothing to bring her home in filled my head, causing late night trips to Target(T) and JCPenney(JCP). Turns out late night is the best time to go - the stores were pretty empty and I was able to take my time and find the best deals. In total, I think I spent $40 and came away feeling much much better!

Normally, I am not a fan of pink and purple and cringe when I look through girl's clothing. However, I think I am breaking that feeling and actually embracing the girliness :)

From the top:
(T)tee (Sweetheart);
(T)tee (Lovebugs);
(T)pink/brown long sleeved onesie w/bird in tree;
(T)pink/brown short sleeved onesie;
(T)pink/brown booties;
(JCP)pink/brown flower/puppy set w/long sleeved shirt, bib, & pants;
(JCP)purple set w/long sleeved shirt & pants;
(JCP)wh/blk/silver set w/long sleeved shirt & pants;
(JCP)pink & brown pants;
(JCP)blue skirt w/diaper cover underneath;
(JCP)khaki shorts

We also received a perfect little sleep swaddler, bibs, & bath set from the Schnicks for Christmas, along with the Nike onesies/booties Josh bought.

So far so good!
